Carratraca is one of many small hillside white towns for which the province of Malaga is well known. Founded in the Nineteenth Century, the village boasts some impressive features for its small population. The church of Nuestra Señora de la Salud has a charming simplicity outdone by the modern tower of the town hall and tourist office, formerly the residence of a local notable. Carratraca also has its own bullring. The properity of the place lies in its sumptuously developed spa complex which attracts visitors from across Europe.
