Heat Pumps, very efficient Pool Heating
Why buy a Heat Pump from H M Heating?
We sell Air to Water Heat Pumps, this means that the warm air around us is adsorbed by the machine and converted to heat the water in your Swimming Pool, this is one of the most efficient ways to heat water, around ¼ of the cost of Gas, Oil or 1/6 the cost of electric heating.
A big consideration when buying a pool heater is the running cost and the Spanish mains power supply with its small main breakers installed in a typical Spanish home.
The normal problem when buying one of these units is when they start the heat pump draws many more amps of power than they need to run, this is known as 'surge' which can be between two to four times its running needs, the machine therefore causes electric breaker to trip.
We sell “D C Inverted” Pool heaters a technology that has been used in the most efficient air-condition units; they need very little electricity power during start-up around only 2 amps rising to its normal running current draw depending on the unit selected.
Running costs of one of these units:
This would depend on the outside air temperature i.e. the warmer the air the less the heat pump has to work and the less it costs to run.
Up to 90% of heat loss from a swimming pool is due to evaporation of the pool-water. The remaining heat losses can be accounted for by conduction through the sides and bottom of the pool and heat lost when a backwash is carried out. A solar pool cover (bubble cover) will cut the evaporation to next-to-nothing and cut heat-losses by up to 90% - it's that simple!
The unit turns on and off automatically to maintain the temperature, therefore not constantly running, a pool Heat Pump should require around 4 hours running time to maintain its temperature the cost would be as follows:
9.5kw (up to 8 x 4 pool) output heater draws 2kw x 4 hours x 0.092834 euros = 0.75 cents per day to run.
17kw (up to12 x 4 pool) output heater draws 4kw x 4 hours x 0.092834 euros = 1.49 euros per day to run.
Benefits of a pool heater:
A pool costs you money even when it is too cold to use it, by adding a pool heater you decide when you want to use your pool, just set the temperature you require and the pool heater does the rest.
If you rent out your property it can be a very big incentive for people to rent your property over another that does not have a heated pool, it is our experience that renters will pay a supplement for the pool to be heated during their stay if you give them the option.
