Prior to taking out your residency, you may import your RHD or LHD car/s at a reduced rate, tax wise. After residency it costs a little more.
The price of importing your vehicle whether its a car, caravan or commercial vehicle, is according to its; 1 age, 2 CC, 3 Modification, 4 weight if commercial, 5 L or RHD. Commercial vehicles over 10 years are difficult and expensive to import, usually outweighing the price/to taxes paid. From 1st June it is probable that it will be banned from importing them.

Below is just a rough estimate of a 10 year old camper van imported by a resident. It is classed as a commercial vehicle, therefore more expensive to import.

With the change of the law o­n June 1st regarding English plated cars, i.e. Non residents with UK driving licences driving UK cars who have been in Spain for over the o­ne year (which is the permitted time) being fined. It is advisable to import your car before 1st June
