The local train leaves the Arroyo De La Miel Station every 30 minutes and terminates in Malaga under the Correos building. It is a short walk along Alemeda to the port. There is a bus from Mijas via Benalmadena all the way to Malaga but you would have to check the Portillo website for more information.

It has just struck me - there is another way to go. There is a boat trip a few times a day from Benalmadena Marina direct to Malaga port. It is like a ferry boat and it is about 90 minutes journey time. I will try and look up frequencies and times for you.

Ring Costasol Cruceros S.L. who operate the Benalmadena - Malaga serry service. 952 444 881 and mobile 667711919 - fare is about 13 euros, and now takes 75 mins - it must go since I last went on it.
