Hi, we are at present living in the valencia area, 25 mins from the beach and 3 mins form our local town, it is nice , we have been here 3 years, but feel it isnt enough for us in so much as many of the ex pats here are retired.(no offence) I feel I have more that I can do as i'm only in my 40's and would like to move somewhere busier, more touristy, and where i can get a part time job, even if it is seasonal, and also not too far from airport. Does anyone have any ideas, also does anyone know if people do permanent house exchanges within spain as ive only come across uk to spain sites. Thanks for reading my post

Hi Michelle

Good luck with your move, really brave decision! We live inland Axarquia which we absolutely love.. very Spanish but with ex-pat community as well, and half an hour to coast, hour and a quarter to airport and about the same to Malaga, Fuengirola, Torremolinos and Benalmadena which are the real tourist haunts. Work is tough for a lot as the construction and real estate has ground to a halt. The knock on effects plus the euro business is taking it's toll but it's the same everywhere isn't it. Might as well live somewhere amazing and struggle! Not sure about the house swaps.. I do know someone who is considering a swap but I think they want to free up some equity.. You could PM me a link to your place and I'll do the same with theirs if its something of interest. We're in Archez near the towns of Canillas de Albeida, Competa and Corumbela. Theres some decent guides on here about them.
Good luck!
Phil

Hiya Phil,
Thanks for your reply, however it is a bit too far inland for what I am hoping for, we have been to Competa before, a few years ago now when we were originally looking, very nice area that it is. I dont know maybe being brought up in the uk by the seaside, and also in my early 20's lived on the costa brava coast, i'm searching for the seaside element still. Maybe i'll never get it but who knows. Thanks very much for your ideas.
Kind Regards Michellem12

No worries mIchelle, perhaps Benalmadena would be better... or Mijas Costa? Not my cup of tea to live there but I do like the odd visit..what floats your boat isn't it? What about closer Marbella? More expensive but I would think alot more work as well?

Gppd luck again
Phil
